Scottish Love In Action
Spreading The Love

Stripe worked with Edinburgh charity, Scottish Love in Action, to help a little love go a long way. The charity, which helps destitute children in India, was approaching its 10th anniversary in September 2010, and to celebrate it partnered with best-selling author and SLA ambassador, Irvine Welsh, to offer the chance to be named in his next book, Skagboys, the prequel to Trainspotting.
To generate interest in the fundraising competition, Stripe managed a nationla media relations programme and held a press launch at the Dominion Theatre in Edinburgh on the morning of an exclusive screening of Trainspotting. National and local broadcast media interviewed the Welsh, and attended the packed-out cinema screening in the evening for a one-off Q&A with the author.
As well as extensive launcvh coverage, other campaign highlights included Stephen Fry tweeting details to his 2.3 million followers and over 1,000 paid text entries.
On the back of the 10th birthday celebrations, Scottish Love in Action raised a significant sum of money to continue its work in the south east Indian state of Andra Pradesh to care for nearly 600 children in Homes-cum-Schools.
Thank you Stripe for all your hard work and enterprise for us. You really entered into the spirit of our venture and have been great, taking us to heart and making such an effort to help us with patience, good humour and expertise. The venture has raised our profile considerably in so many areas which we would otherwise not have been able to break into.
